NBC is working on a new TV drama series titled, “Look at Me,” inspired by deaf model, actor and activist Nyle DiMarco.
The series, which is based on DiMarco’s life, will also be produced by the star, according to ZadanMeronProductions.com.
Deaf Model and Actor Nyle DiMarco
Nyle DiMarco has become familiar in both the deaf and hearing communities. He is a model, actor, deaf activist and winner of America’s Next Top Model and Dancing With The Stars.
His name and face may be familiar, however, the latest news released recently by NBC will place him in a new stellar position, that of a celebrity with his own biopic show.
The actor shot to fame in 2014 when he appeared in Switched At Birth playing the role of Garrett Banducci. He has since became famous for his Netflix show “Deaf U,” a docusoap.
He told Vulture.com that in the early stages of the show, there were no deaf people behind the cameras. This he changed by bringing deaf people into the production. The show eventually had a 50% deaf crew, something previously unheard of in television.
